These are the five gifts I was born with. I did not choose them. I did not learn them. I inherited them — a family legacy, it seems.
For most of my life, I did not have names for them. I only knew that I sensed things others did not. That I knew things before they happened. That I heard things in the quiet. That I felt the presence of people who were no longer here.
It all came to me around the age of 35. They were abilities. And like all abilities, they require discipline, grounding, and respect.
These are the 5 C’s.
1. Clairvoyance — Clear Seeing
Clairvoyance is the gift of sight beyond the physical. It arrives as images, visions, or flashes of knowing that appear in the mind’s eye.
I see things before they happen. I see the truth of a person beneath the mask they wear. I see the shape of a situation long before it unfolds. Sometimes it comes in dreams. Sometimes it comes in waking flashes. Sometimes it comes as a single, undeniable image that will not leave me alone.
The challenge of clairvoyance is not the seeing. It is learning to trust what you see — and to wait for confirmation before acting on it.
2. Clairaudience — Clear Hearing
Clairaudience is the gift of hearing beyond the physical. It arrives as words, names, phrases, or sounds that no one else can hear.
I hear things in the quiet. I hear warnings. I hear guidance. Sometimes I hear the voices of those who have passed, and sometimes I hear my own higher self speaking clearly for the first time. Sometimes it is a single word, repeated until I pay attention.
The challenge of clairaudience is discernment: learning to tell the difference between fear, memory, and genuine guidance.
3. Clairsentience — Clear Feeling
Clairsentience is the gift of feeling beyond the physical. It arrives as emotions, physical sensations, or a deep sense of knowing in the body.
I feel the energy of a room before anyone speaks. I feel the emotions of others as if they were my own. I feel when something is wrong long before there is evidence. My body has warned me about people, places, and decisions long before my mind caught up.
The challenge of clairsentience is boundaries. You cannot carry everyone’s emotions. You must learn to feel without absorbing.
4. Claircognizance — Clear Knowing
Claircognizance is the gift of knowing beyond the physical. It arrives as sudden, complete understanding — with no explanation and no evidence.
I simply know things. I know when a person is lying. I know when a decision is wrong. I know when something is about to change. I cannot always explain how I know, and that has cost me — because people want proof, and the knowing comes without it.
The challenge of claircognizance is learning to speak your knowing without apology, even when you cannot justify it.
5. Clairalience and Clairgustance — Clear Smelling and Clear Tasting
These are the rarest of the gifts. They arrive as scents or tastes that carry meaning.
I have smelled things that were not there — perfume, tobacco, flowers — and known they were a message. I have tasted things that carried memory or warning. These gifts often accompany mediumship, and they are subtle. They require stillness to notice.
The challenge here is patience. These gifts speak quietly. You must slow down to hear them.
A Note on These Gifts
These abilities are not party tricks. They are not for performance. They are not to be used to control or impress anyone.
They are responsibilities. They come with a cost — isolation, sensitivity, and the burden of knowing things you cannot un-know.
They also come with a purpose: to guide, to protect, and to warn. To see what others miss. To speak what others will not.
I am still learning to live with them. Some days they are a gift. Some days they are a weight. But they are mine, and I am no longer hiding them.
If you recognise yourself in these words, you are not broken. You are not crazy. You are simply carrying something most people do not have names for.
Welcome.
